The trees are staring to bud on our mountaintop in New England and we’re starting a new round of meditations on Monday… perfect beginnings abound!
We want to remind you of the basic structure of The Practice of Living Awareness. It’s all in the audio below, but if you’d like the skinny, here it is:
This is the second of three new rounds in 2018; the first one began in January, this round begins in a few days, and there will be another in September. The previous round as well as the meditation rounds from 2017 are archived on the blog, so if there’s a step that you’re really enjoying and you’d like to add a few more meditations to your week, look them up and enjoy! As always, a round of meditations covers all fourteen steps in fourteen weeks, with three meditations per week. Each meditation stands on its own, but it is especially beneficial to follow along in order as each weekly step builds upon the one before it.
For this round, our objective is to leave more space for silence. We’ll insert some of the teachings from previous meditations in the blog post and allow the majority of your sitting time to be meditative. We’ll offer an introduction to the upcoming step on Sunday evening and the week’s recorded meditations will post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. We are thrilled to have Carol Martin and Martha Henry-MacDonald continue their weekend streams of meditations, Breathe and Light. Saturday’s meditation will supports the mindfulness aspects of The Practice of Living Awareness and Sunday’s meditation brings forward the qualities of insight within the practice.
