We use time and space as markers. Songbirds migrate north as the landscape greens and they follow the same trail south when the time is right. The sun sets in the West as the earth rotates it out of view, only to rise in the East the next morning. Likewise, our breath follows a trail and a rhythm which includes us in the cyclical nature of all that is.
Breath comes and goes, always circulating, always new, always in flow. As we merge our awareness with the experience of breathing, we become fully present and time falls away. Markers become unnecessary when you find yourself immersed in the wondrous simplicity of the now. Happy meditating.
