When astronauts recall their experience of seeing the Earth and the moon from a distance, floating in infinite space, they all seem to experience a keen sense of awe, wonder, and blissful curiosity. Many say that they see the Earth is a living organism of which they are a part. I would compare, with humility, that meditation offers us a similar experience of ourselves as the observer: observing this living vessel which we inhabit. It can certainly generate a sense of wonder and curiosity; and perhaps, even awe.
Ah, to move through the world with curiosity and awe. Now that’s living.
