Toroidal Flow Meditation – Day 3  While most of us associate Albert Einstein with his scientific prowess, his personal writings reveal a spiritual side that is every bit as revelatory. He writes, “A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

By widening our circle of compassion, we are revealing and engaging the toroidal flow that connects us to every living thing; the flow that allows us to intermingle, co-create, intuit, empathize, sympathize, and harmonize. As we choose to be led by the heart, to be led by the understanding that we are all interconnected and interdependent, we come to embrace our commonalities: our shared the desire to lead peaceful and dignified lives, to be seen and valued for who we are as individuals as well as a collective, and to secure a future free from harm and injustice. We are a part of many wholes; the whole of our families, the whole of society, the whole of humanity, the whole of the living Earth, the whole of our solar system, and the whole of the Universe. Each one of these groupings has a livingness of its own. Each spinning vortex from the atom to the Universe is the result of toroidal flow and sustained by toroidal flow. Where is your awareness? How does it move? What does it include?

Let’s meditate.
