Interconnectedness

Step #11, Ground of Being – Day 2  One could utilize any number of the meditative tools that we’ve been working with for the last several months to support the becoming of what they ought to be and simultaneously support the becoming of what others ought to be. This is interconnectedness and it is, indeed, the byproduct of the interrelated structure of reality. We are designed to connect: to the moment, the ourselves, to others, to emotions, to the earth, to ideas and concepts. For instance, try a smile. At very least, synapses are connecting and releasing positive neurotransmitters. Try noticing flow as you move through your day. Flow and grace are the result of seamless interrelatedness. Soften and open  to another’s words in conversation; linger and receive before you respond. Soften and open to your emotions; release negativity through gratitude and appreciation. Pause, enjoy an interlude, and connect to your surroundings.

Yes, all of the words in italics above are steps of the Practice of Living Awareness. Now, factor in asana (alignment with your inner and outer reality), mind (access to awareness), luminous perception (awareness of potential unfolding) and you have landed square on the firm ground of your being… ready to connect.
