Begin With a Smile

Smile Meditation – Day 1

Spacious and easy: these can be the qualities of this very moment, if we choose to bring them forward. They’re a bit like the clear blue sky… always there, yet not always revealed. Perhaps we simply need to look up more and take it in, or give the cloud cover time to move on; regardless, we can smile with the knowledge that spaciousness, like the sky, is there… somewhere.

We’re all smiles this week as we begin a new round of meditations with the Practice of Living Awareness. Ease, spaciousness, smiles – what a great way to begin anything! Meditation is a wonderful gift to give yourself: your mind smiles, your body smiles, and you may even find that the people around you smile more.

Below is the guided meditation for Day 1 of this week’s meditation theme, Smile. We’ll post three meditations for each theme of the week. Each one will build upon the last, so it’s nice to do them in order. If you are new to meditation or to the practice, there is a short introduction below as well.
