Happy Holidays

The theme of happiness is on our minds and in our hearts during the holiday season. So often we strive for the sense of happiness… for more, for better, for bigger, for brighter because that will make us happy. We probably know from experience, and research is confirming, that striving for happiness really doesn’t work so well, it actually increases the unhappiness quotient and can leave us feeling anxious and down.

There is a song from Charlie Brown (who also seems to pop us around the holidays) which goes, “Happiness is being alone every now and then, and happiness is coming home again.” Finding contentment in the moment, taking time to go within and be quiet for awhile, giving to others in simple ways… even just a smile, that brings happiness; that brings us home to our heart.

Let’s be present in this moment, for this holiday season. And let’s share that sense of contentment and happiness with others. “Happiness is anyone and anything at all that’s loved by you.” Right on, Charlie Brown!

Happy Holidays from all of us at Spirit Fire.
