Allowing thoughts to come and go during a meditation sitting exercises our go-with-the-flow muscles. Yes, sometimes exercise takes time to see results. Yes, sometimes it feels repetitive. But it’s worth it. The consistent practice of creating space for thoughts to arise, and then allowing them to pass on by within that same space, generates ease within the present moment and reinforces the fact that we always have the option (in meditation and in life) to just let it go.
Happy meditating.
