Pondering the Practice

The world around us is always expressing, creating, and producing. The result is forms, or appearances, which possess qualities that blend and differentiate, which create conditions which display before us—and thus—we receive. It’s simply the nature of things.

The lungs receive the breath and the earth receives our weight. The mind receives inspirations, and the heart receives feelings both tender and strong. Through the senses we receive the world in fantastic ways: eyes taking in light and color, ears picking up sound, skin feeling warmth and texture, nose catching scent, and tongue tasting flavor.

Life flows toward us in countless ways. Might we soften so as to open, and open so as to receive? Let’s do! It’s the name of this week’s theme.

Happy meditating.
