Smiling With What’s Here

Meditation practices often invite a gentle return to the breath. Why? Because the breath is always there—it’s an occurrence that we can rely on.

The body is a reliable occurrence as well. You have one! And it’s breathing. Right now.

The body responds to a gentle breath in the same way most of us respond to a sincere smile: with allowance. We want to receive it. Smiles make us feel good. They inspire happiness and receptivity. Similarly, the body is receptive to the life affirming gift of a breath. It’s so simple and sweet.

Happy meditating.

Smile Meditation – Day 3

Note to practitioners: As a theme during these chaotic times, this particular round will feature meditations that are simple, quiet, and gentle. Less talking, more spaciousness. You can always search for prior meditations by the week’s theme in the footer and/or sidebar of the blog should you want more dialog or teaching in your sitting. Here’s a direct link to all of the Smile meditations that are available, just for smiles! There is also a full round of the practice on our website. Enjoy!
