Yes, there is predation among species of animals, but the overriding emphasis of life on Earth is giving and care. Hardship is not experienced in patience or kindness or generosity. Hardship lies in and results from war, disease, poverty, and impatience.
We meditate on being necessary to the flow of kindness, patience, and care. This dog bodhisattva is our example. She is a surrogate mother to red panda kits.
