if there is only
one thing left to believe in
let it be kindness
Twenty-five years ago, Donna Mitchell-Moniak founded Spirit Fire from a deep reverence for the possibilities of human consciousness. The Practice of Living Awareness grew from that reverence.
She constantly invites individuals to discover through their own experience what awareness, compassion, and wisdom can become. Thousands of meditations later, her invitation continues to move from one person to another, adapting to new teachers, new environments, and new circumstances, yet remaining faithful to something essential. Donna teaches us that consciousness can be cultivated, that awareness matters, and that the way we meet one another changes everything.
Perhaps that is why kindness feels like such a fitting place to end this Summer Session of the Practice of Living Awareness. Kindness is awareness made relational: a recognition that another life is worthy of our care. As we celebrate twenty-five years of Spirit Fire, we offer our gratitude to Donna for planting a seed whose fruit continues to ripen in the loveliest of ways.
The Practice continues. The invitation continues. And so does the kindness.
Happy Meditating.
