Mantra is vibration. Sacred word is the utterance of cosmic intention. There are many sacred mantras in the world traditions. One is OM MANI PADME HUM.
Literally translated it means OM the jewel in the lotus. But the practitioner is to ponder each aspect of this on as many layers as possible.
- What is a jewel? Where is it found? How is it brought forward?
- How does a lotus grow? Where does it grow? What conditions are necessary for it?
- What do Om and Hum mean? No single words suffices for either.
