Spaciousness

Why meditate? If you’ve been meditating with us regularly for this round of the Practice of Living Awareness, it is our sincere hope that you can answer that question in a way that is meaningful for you.

If I were asked, I would say first and foremost, I meditate to get friendlier with myself and with my mind. That allows me to be friendlier with others and the world around me. And that leads to appreciation and more happiness. And that big ole journey began by observing things that I usually didn’t observe… my thoughts, my breath, the moment I happen to be in, and the next, and the next. Noticing how things come and go. Noticing flow. Noticing cycles, and patterns, and newness, and change. Noticing—it’s a meditation thing.

Interludes create space for noticing. And that creates space for so much more.

Happy meditating.
